Hi everyone! I need your advice. I am interested in studying abroad. This January, I was accepted to a school in Canada. I went for two weeks and lived with five host families within those two weeks. At the end of the month, the Social Security office here in the States told me that my funding has stopped because I am living outside of the country. I had to return home. How can I study abroad without social security? How do I find funding? I had so many host families because they "didn't know how to take care of a blind student." I really want to go back to study in Canada.
Hi! I am interested in studying abroad as well and am sorry to hear about your experiences in Canada. I have been doing a lot of research on this off and on and have yet to find a lot of definitive information. One thing I would do is to look at the disability organizations in whichever country you're interested in studying and see if they have any resources there. Hth!
I have never studdied abroad but one of my penfriends is going to study in the USA at the end of this month. She is from Pakistan. She had to get a veesa hers came threw okay but they had to waight for her brother's veesa. Some people are trying to stop them from going to the USA and Hina is getting upset about that.
